Applications Open: Preregistration Template Evaluation Working Group

February 19th, 2025,
The Center for Open Science (COS) is seeking new members for its Preregistration Template Working Group, with terms beginning in March 2025

Preregistration enhances research transparency by allowing researchers to disclose their research study designs and analysis plans before data collection. The Open Science Framework (OSF), an open source research platform built and maintained by COS, offers specialized preregistration templates to streamline this process across various research domains. These templates simplify the preregistration process by helping researchers include all of the necessary information about their studies.

Members of the Preregistration Template Evaluation Working Group will primarily:
  • Evaluate and prioritize community-developed preregistration templates for potential OSF inclusion

  • Serve as disciplinary and methodological experts, offering a community perspective on preregistration standards and criteria

Applicants will be evaluated based on their knowledge of and experience with registration workflows, preregistration and registration templates, and research reporting guidelines. COS encourages applications from researchers across disciplines, career stages, global regions, and underrepresented demographic groups. This position is voluntary and does not offer a monetary stipend.

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, but for best consideration, interested applicants are encouraged to submit the Preregistration Template Working Group Application by February 28th, 2025.
