Resources for Teaching

Framework for Open and Reproducible Research Training (FORRT)

  • Pedagogies encompass reflections on increasing the dissemination, recognition and re-purposefulness of teaching practices and materials; experiences of adapting courses to incorporate reproducibility and transparency; perspectives on the social and ethical responsibilities towards teaching these principles.
  • Lesson Plans provide access to specific lesson plans that other educators have implemented in their own teaching or as workshops. This is potentially beneficial for trainers who want to host a workshop on a topic but don’t know where to start.
  • Summaries are a resource that could be particularly helpful as trainers develop their own training materials; these summaries could save them time in determining whether a resource is beneficial for their audience. These summaries are helpful both for the trainer in their own skill development and as potential resources for learners who are just starting out in open science.
  • Clusters provide curated resources about a number of open science concepts and practices (e.g., FAIR data and materials, reproducible analyses) and offer a good starting point for people learning about a topic. These resources are helpful both for the trainer in their own skill development and as potential resources that trainers can assign to learners who are just starting out in open science.
